Upendo is a day care center that provides holistic support to orphans and destitute children in Kilifi Township with food, education and school enrichment, healthcare, psychosocial support, shelter improvement, vocational skills training among other forms of support.
Sponsor A Child
Join the Upendo family today by sponsoring a child. There are several children on our waiting list. It costs around £380 ($450) per year to educate, feed, clothe and take care of each child, and (£ 800) if they are in secondary school when we need to pay more school fees.Sponsors give anywhere between £350 and £1000 per year per child ($400-1500).
Make a one-off donation
We also rely on one-off donations to help meet our expenses. This money goes towards running costs (administration, building maintenance) as well as to special projects, if specified by the donor. Currently, we need funds towards the following:Books for ourLibrary,Learning material (stationery, etc.)Dining hall,Sanitary pads,Kitchen utensils and equipment,Full HDVideoCameras,ProjectorWe also receive donations of material goods in the form of food, clothes, toys and books. All of these are gratefully received and all are well used.

The project works with Upendo UK (a registered charity in the UK; registration number: 1118312) which collects money from individual sponsors on our behalf. Upendo UK then makes annual grants to the project in Kenya and to whom the project reports.
Volunteer your time
The children do not get enough quality time with caring adults. If you can spare some time and come and read books with the children, kick a football or play some games,support our IT and Leadership training events or provide technical and administrative help in the office ,please do so.It will be quite an experience!We’d love your help.
